Village Green Day School was the vision of our late Founder Lynne Simmons. Lynne’s vision was to create a loving home away from home for our students; an environment Where Learning Feels Like Family. The purpose of this page is to provide you with information you may need when making the decision of where to enroll your child.
Student Eligibility
Village Green admits students on a nondiscriminatory basis, without regard to sex, race, color, religion, or national origin. Parents and guardians are required to tour the school before applying.
General Placement
Village Green's care and attention to placement is central to giving students an opportunity to grow in the environment that is best suited to their particular age and stage, school experience, needs, and personality. Chronological age is most often a very reliable marker for developmental age; however, every child is unique and we recognize that on occasion, the ages differ. Sometimes, after a new applicant’s playdate (and screening if applying for the JK) we may offer a placement that differs from the expected, chronological class. VGDS parents with special placement requests (those that are outside of the chronological age requirements and/or are not recommended by the class teacher), should make the request at the time of readmission for returning students. Please refer to the previous program section for the age requirement for each class level. Teacher placement recommendations are written in the January Report Card and shared during the January Parent/Teacher Conferences prior to readmission.
